Initiative for the Promotion of Mediterranean Arts, Istria – Umag announces a call for applications for the selection of performances to be included in the official program of the 27th International Chamber Theatre Festival “Golden Lion” Umag 2026.

The call is open until March 13, 2026.

The 27th edition of the Golden Lion Festival will take place from June 22 to June 28, 2026.

Eligible for selection are all professional theatres – from non-institutional theatre ensembles and experimental theatre formations to chamber stages of large national theatre houses. Performances included in the official program will compete for the Grand Prix.

The Festival provides professional technical conditions for staging the performance and covers accommodation and meals during your stay in Umag. Other necessary expenses, including travel costs, must be covered by the applicants themselves.

Each application must include:

performance catalogue, poster, trailer, and video recording of the performance,photographs and other photo material in electronic format, reviews, stage plan, lighting and sound configuration, other technical requirements for the performance, and a mandatory rooming list.
